Tortolì is a town in Sardinia, co-capital of the Province of Ogliastra with Lanusei.

Tortolì is situated on the eastern coast of Sardinia. Its port (Arbatax) and an airport connect it to Italy and the European continent. To the north of it is Girasole and Lotzorai, to the west Villagrande Strisaili and Ilbono, and to the south Barisardo. To the east of the town is the Mediterranean Sea.

Tortolì was taken by the Carthaginians, Romans, Vandals, Umayyad, and Spanish. It was part of the kingdom of Cagliari during the 12th century. The town was the head of the County of Quirra.

- 1807 – becomes head of a province consisting of 27 villages.
- 1821 – loses capital status to Lanusei.
- 1824 – becomes head of the newly formed Diocese of Ogliastra.
- 1832 – Church of St. Andrea damaged by overflow of the Foddeddu River.
- 1859 – incorporated into the Province of Cagliari.
- 1881 – inaugeration of first aquaduct.
- 1906 – construction of iron bridge across Foddeddu River begins.
- 1908 – cases of smallpox.
- 1926 – incorporated into province of Nuoro.
- 1927 – loses episcopal see status to Lanusei.
- 1935 – visited by Benito Mussolini.
- 1943 – port of Arbatax bombed, 13 dead.
