Tormey, California
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tormey is an unincorporated village in Contra Costa County, California between Rodeo and Crockett on the edge of the Tosco refinery in Rodeo. The village is home to several dozen homes and one small business. Originally home to refinary workers when it was part of Standard Oil, it is along San Pablo Avenue and a parallel street that offshoots from it, Old Country Road, at the end of which there is a water tower. Although the area is unincorporated, many times it is referred to as being in the Crockett hills, or simply the village above Crockett or the "refinery village".
