In 2002, the Accenture consulting company compiled a list of the top 50 business intellectuals. From a list of 300 brainstormed by their staff, they found the top 50 by summing of the ranks of these rankings:

- The LexisNexis media databases to 1997
- Citations found in the Science Citation Index and Social Sciences Citation Index to 1997
