[edit] Source of information?

The possition of the United States on the graph looks too high, considering that the Euro today trades at over US $1.30.

  • What is the source of information?
  • From what year is the information?
  • What is the exchange rate used between the US Dollar and the Euro

These are the official nominal GDP rankings from the International Monetary Fund for September 2006. See the sources in the List of countries by GDP (nominal) per capita article. Regards, SignaturebrendelHAPPY HOLIDAYS 02:15, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
Using this set of data [1], it seems that the US dollar values for Euro zone countries are calculated on an exchange rate of 1,245755 US $/Euro. The exchange rate provided by the European Central Bank for December 1 2006 is 1.3244 [2]. -- Petri Krohn 05:42, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
Well okay, then the statistics reflect an older conversion rate. Consider that these statistics were publish in September 2006, so the conversion rate might be a bit outdated by now. I thik the mention you put into the caption addresses this issue sufficiently. After all here on WP we can only cite statistics prepared by other institutions such as the IMF.
