[edit] U.S. Minister to Hawaii

Thanks so much for starting articles on the individual U.S. Ministers to Hawaii! Great job! If you ever want to help with other Hawaii-related articles, check out Wikipedia:WikiProject Hawaii. --Gerald Farinas 06:06, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Thank you. I still have some work to do on them. I lived on Oahu for a few years and have loved the islands ever since. Thank you for your additions and help. --Tony Hecht 17:16, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] 'Housekeeping' edits

No problem. I spend most of my Wikipedia time going thru the new pages list doing similar edits, so if I wasn't working on your articles, I'd be working on someone else's. Happy editing. Niteowlneils 2 July 2005 21:03 (UTC)

[edit] Editing your userpage

Hi, I edited your userpage, because there was a Cfr to change Category:Washington, D.C. suburbs. I hope you don't mind. Also if you put a colon in the category tag, it wouldn't put your user page in the Category:Washington, D.C. suburbs category, unless you want it there. Example:[[:Category:Washington, D.C. suburbs]]. Salut. <>Who?¿? 06:07, 12 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Vanyel Ashkevron

Hey there, thanks for replacing the Vanyel image with something more appropriate. Joeyconnick 22:53, August 2, 2005 (UTC)

No problem. I preferred the prior image, but defer to your judgment about its copyright. --Tony Hecht 23:42, 2 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Celebrity Pictures

Hi Tony619,
What is the point of adding multiple(/erotic) images to the pages of celebrities.I believe one image is sufficient. Please refrain from adding such images.Gaurav1146 10:37, 7 August 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for your comments. I agree in principal, but will use my discretion in some cases. --Tony Hecht 22:47, 10 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Kira Kener.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Kira Kener.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag, so its copyright status is therefore unclear. Could you add a tag to let us know its copyright status? (If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know on the image description page where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Otherwise, see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. Thanks so much. -- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 22:36, 10 August 2005 (UTC)

Thank you Joe. My mistake. --Tony Hecht 22:47, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
Actually, can you provide a source... Unfortunately, neither myself or other contributors can verify a fair use claim unless we know where the image comes from. If it comes from an online source, a URL should be posted; if it comes from an offline source, then we need some periodical or book reference... See Wikipedia:Image description page#What to include on an image description page for more info. Thanks Tony. -- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 00:37, 11 August 2005 (UTC)
Hummm. That's a bit harder. Online, let me look for the site again. If possible, let me work on this over the weekend. Should the image be left up in the mean time? --Tony Hecht 00:40, 11 August 2005 (UTC)
Absolutely, feel free to research it! I don't see the issue in keeping the image up, for now. -- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 00:56, 11 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] "H" is for "Tony619"?

Hi. Was more or less wandering around the wiki and noticed that your category listing is weird. I see that many of the category links on your userpage are piped as "Hecht, Tony". Were you trying to get yourself listed that way? Unless I'm missing something, it doesn't work that way; you'll be listed as "User:Tony619" no matter what. The piped text only affects the collation, so you're listed as "User:Tony619" under "H", which doesn't make sense (Although it is an improvement over all the users listed under "U" because they don't realize the "User:" part is included by default).

Anyway, you'll probably want to fix this. The easiest thing to do is to put in {{subst:PAGENAME}} for the piped text, as it will do the Right Thing. Ddawson 20:47, 29 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Theodorus B.M. Mason

Thanks in advance for your promised input on Theodorus B.M. Mason. The sources that I have are admittedly paltry. If you checked the Wikipedia entry on the Office of Naval Intelligence, I only listed the DNIs until Theodore S. Wilkinson. Perhaps you can add to this as well. [edit] Info on image, please

Please go to Image:Holly Hart headshot-PM199804A1-01-lrg.jpg and edit that image description page to give the source (URL, if online; ISBN, if scanned from a book; and if you've taken the image yourself, just say so) and the licensing status (the list of image copyright tags might be useful) of this image. All our images should have this information. Thank you. Lupo 08:50, 26 September 2005 (UTC)

Also for other images you've uploaded. Unsourced images will be deleted. Lupo 08:52, 26 September 2005 (UTC)

The picture is actually of Cicero, I made an error and changed the file name. Sorry for the mistake. Sfufan2005 22:58, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Playboy March 2001.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Playboy March 2001.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu Badali 00:32, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Playboy July 1988.jpg)

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Playboy July 1988.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Abu Badali 18:38, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright problems with Image:Playboy March 2005.jpg

An image that you uploaded, Image:Playboy March 2005.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

[edit] Possible copyright problem with Carlisle Industrial Indian School

Please see the talk page. If you have a source for any of your addition to the American Football section, we need it. Otherwise, as I am unable to verify the date of the possible source, it will need to be rewritten. Thanks. Mdbrownmsw 18:41, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

As additional text seems to have been directly copied from http://home.epix.net/%7Elandis/histry.html, I have eliminated all remnants of the article from your edits. Thanks. Mdbrownmsw 21:03, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Subst'ing template

Tony, I noticed that you have been subst'ing some templates on talk pages, particularly {{Project New Jersey}}. Please stop doing this, as it prevents new changes to the template from being reflected in the page. Thanks. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 15:59, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Chris, I think you are mistaken. Would you please explain how my adding templates to talk pages is wrong? The subst'ing page does not seem to cover. Tony Hecht 02:37, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Headshot-PM200406A1-01-lrg.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Headshot-PM200406A1-01-lrg.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 20:35, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
