I joined Wikipedia on 13 May 2004, and have been editing or adding to articles since then as well as using the encyclopedia to find out information. My main article interests are in the computing, current affairs, entertainment and health areas.

[edit] Where I'm from

Originally from Manchester in the UK, I now live in Southport, where I've been living for quite a few years. My Mum lives in Johannesburg, South Africa and the rest of my family are still in the Manchester area.

[edit] Career

I used to work as a Classroom Assistant at Birkdale School for Hearing Impaired Children, a residential school for deaf children. Sadly, the school closed down in July 2003, but even though I no longer work there I'm still Editor of their newsletter.

I'm also webmaster of the Reunion Association site.

Before working at the School, I used to work as an Audit Clerk in a firm of accountants.

I'm involved with a couple of voluntary organisations, including the National Deaf Children's Society and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

Away from the computer, I enjoy reading (especially mystery novels), swimming, eating out (I love Chinese food!), films, having a drink or ten! ;) and all kinds of music, such as rock, pop and rap. I also have an interest in magic and am a member of the Southport Magic Circle. And no, I won't tell you how the tricks are done!
