Tony McDonnell, born in Dublin on February 10, 1976, is a footballer currently playing with Eircom League side UCD.
He has been a college player for thirteen years and is currently second on the all-time appearances list for them. He is also the club captain. He can play as a right or centre back, but in more recent seasons he has been played as a central midfielder to good effect. He has made 289 league appearances to date for UCD and has scored 28 league goals. He was a nominee for the Eircom League player of the year in the 2005 season. Tony McDonnell was appointed chairman of the PFAI in August 2006.
