Little is known of Tony Eveready's early life. Scholars have discovered, however, that his birth name was Duane Moore, his hometown is South Central in Los Angeles, and that his first documented professional porn role came in 1994 with the now-classic Black Gang Bangers 3. Clusters of fans popped up around educational institutions, most notably in Chicago, New York, Eveready's hometown of Los Angeles, South Florida, and the state of New Jersey. Most fans reenact Eveready's scene by making a popping noise with their mouths, like the popping noises found in the video. At one point, students at a Chicagoland high school even made black-colored t-shirts emblazoned with the question, "Got Tone?", à la the "Got Milk?" ad campaigns.
