Please see the Thad McCotter discussion for a discussion touching upon these edits. Personally, I don't believe the PAC information is material or relevant to this entry, but it is not misleading and it is factual. DrWitty 16:20, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

This is essentially a political advertisement.

There's no reason it should even be here, unless and until this person actually wins his congressional race.

Simply running against an incumbent congressman is not a notable achievement.

The tone is overly complementary and the text has little useful information for voters in this congressional district, like me. I cringe when anyone is called an 'accomplished' anything. Can he be that 'accomplished' when, as an active Democrat in his congressional district, I'd never heard of him? I disagree with your belief that candidates shouldn't be listed. Wikipedia is a reference site for many. Anyone (of any party or ideology) making personal sacrifices to run a campaign (elective or otherwise) and an earnest effort to better their country (from their perspective) is noteworthy. PAC information can be relevant. I am editing it, not to delete information, but to neutralise the tone. Shouldn't candidate listings offer a dispassionate run-down of the candidates stances and finances? Will await feedback before doing that.

I have no objection to listing nominees that are well-funded, current officeholders, and who have attracted significant publicity in regional or national media outlets, e.g. David Yassky, or who have a history of prior accomplishments, e.g. Jim Webb, but simply listing any Democratic candidate who has obtained his party's nomination, and who has a theoretical chance at becoming the next representative from a specific congressional district, does not strike me as being a particularly worthwhile endeavor.
