[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/TOMS SHOES

I understand your frustration with your first article being nominated for deletion. Perhaps you should familiarize yourself with the criteria to determine if a company is notable. You can locate them at Wikipedia:Notability (companies and corporations). It wouldn't hurt also to become more familiar with wikipedia traditions as a whole. For example, while self promotion and blatant advertising is frowned on in the encyclopedia as a whole, if you provide a link to your company on your user page, that is not generally an issue. If there is anything else I can help with, please don't hesitate to message me. Oh, and you didn't list your company as a non-profit. I assume that is what you meant (that it was a non-profit company) when you said "I dont see why a company thats helping children who and heart and sole rest purly in bettering the lives of under privleged children should be deleted". Never mind, my guess is that you ARE in it for the profit. Many companies, large and small give a portion of their earnings towards charity. My photography business gives 5% of every dollar made to local charities. I don't even advertise it. And, since I am more than a bit familiar with the markup on footwear (more than anything other than possibly jewlery or eyeglass frames), I know that 5% or so is the range that you also are donating. Funny though, I don't try to pretend that my charitable donations are my (or my companies) reason for being. Dipics 22:31, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
