He made his first appearance in 2001 in a Bel Ami video.

Described by Freshmen magazine as having "a perfect face, a body by Da Vinci and a dick so big and thick that you could suck on it for hours", he soon won a solid fan base and then became one of the most important star of the "new generation" of Bel Ami performers. Hansen is the quintessential gay fantasy boy with his dark blonde hair, brown eyes, deep rich tan, smooth and defined abs and pecs, and an enormous uncircumcised penis. Hansen himself, according to the Freshmen magazine interview, estimates that his penis is longer than 9 and a half inches (24 cm) when erect.

While he prefers to bottom for his partners, he can be seen as a top in some videos released exclusively on Bel Ami official website. He even can be seen in bareback action with Tim Hamilton. Strangely, for a porn star, Hansen has openly admitted in interviews that the reason why he prefers to bottom is that he dislikes performing penetrative sex whilst using a condom.

While acting as a gay porn performer, Trojovský wanted to break into mainstream, non porn, modeling at the same time. In 2005 Trojovský courted controversy when he appeared as the main actor in a German TV commercial for Müller dairy company.

Later in the same year, using his real name Filip Trojovský, he was a contestant of the Czech version of Big Brother.

Trojovský is also an accomplished kickboxer, competing in the under 81kg division for his club, Arena Brno.

In August 2005, German dairy company Müller Milch released a new TV commercial. The main actor in the commercial was Filip Trojovský, aka Tommy Hansen. Having simultaneously worked as a mainstream model in the Czech Republic, Hansen was chosen to be the new face of the dairy in Germany. In September 2005, however, Bild (Germany’s biggest selling tabloid newspaper) revealed to the German public what it described as the "awful past" of the actor. Faced with a backlash from conservative campaign groups and, in the hope of avoiding a prolonged scandal, Müller withdrew the commercial shortly after the start of the campaign. It was later alleged by Müller that neither Hansen, nor his agent, told them about his porn career when he was cast to take part in the campaign.

At the same time, Hansen was unaware of this scandal but prepared himself to create another one back in his homeland. On August 29, 2005, he became a contestant in the Czech Big Brother reality television show. Bel Ami were dismayed by his decision to take part in the show and tried to convince him not to do so, the reason being that Bel Ami porn is not available in the Czech Republic, where many of its stars live, in order to protect their privacy.

George Duroy, owner and founder of Bel Ami, was said to be deeply concerned about the risk to his business caused by Hansen taking part in the show. His concerns turned out to be premature and, ironically, it is now thought that Hansen's appearance in the show actually caused a boom in sales of Bel Ami products featuring him.

After a few weeks in the show, Hansen admitted to his fellow contestants that he was a gay porn actor. Due to confusing vote system, Tommy was voted out of the show though he eventually returned a few weeks later and stayed until the show’s finale, in December 2005.
