Tomi Putaansuu

Tomi Petteri Putaansuu (aka Mr. Lordi) (born 15 February 1974, Rovaniemi, Finland) is the lead vocalist in the Finnish hard rock band Lordi. His character is the biomechanic man and the unholy overlord. Lordi, who has been interested in hard rock since he was a boy, is a fan of KISS. He formed Lordi, a hard rock band, when he was 18 years old. He studied film making in Tornio and created there Lordi's first music video. His band Lordi went on to win the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006, scoring the most points for a single entry ever.
Most publicity photographs of Putaansuu have his face conceiled with a mask or stage makeup to maintain the public image of Mr Lordi, with some exceptions.[1]

- He married his long-time girlfriend and personal assistant Johanna Askola in early August 2006 in his home town Rovaniemi. The marriage was set for May 2006 and had to be postponed due to the surprising success of "Hard Rock Hallelujah".
- He has metal plates holding his right leg together after he slipped onstage at a show in Finland and he needs the screws tightened every day to ensure it heals properly.
- In an interview to an Israeli magazine he stated that one of his favourite Eurovision artists is Dana International.
- His costume is similar to the one his musical idol and hero Gene Simmons uses.
