Tomasz Adamek

Tomasz Adamek (born December 1, 1976 in Żywiec, Poland) is a professional boxer in the light heavyweight division. His record is 30-0 (21 KOs). He is the current WBC world light-heavyweight champion. After just defeating Paul "Hurricane" Briggs in a much anticipated rematch; a match that many people, including Paul Briggs thought was a victory for Briggs. The fight was immediately dubbed fight of the year in many boxing circles, just as the first fight was. Adamek won the fight despite being stripped a point for what looked to be a viscous low blow delivered to Briggs and being knocked down in the first round.

On May 21, 2005, Adamek defeated Paul Briggs for the vacant WBC light heavyweight title by majority decision.^[1] Adamek defended the title on October 15, 2005 with a sixth-round knockout victory over Thomas Ulrich.^[1]
