Tom McCarthy (broadcaster)

Tom McCarthy is an American sports broadcaster. Since 2006, he has handled radio play-by-play duties with Howie Rose for the New York Mets, and hosts the radio post-game show for the Mets. He also is the play-by-play voice of St. Joseph's University men's and women's basketball teams.

Prior to joining the Mets' broadcast booth, McCarthy spent five seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies as a radio play-by-play voice, and their pre-game and post-game radio host. He has also been a play-by-play voice for Rutgers University football and for national football telecasts on CSTV.

McCarthy spent nearly a decade broadcasting Princeton University football and men's basketball. He was the play-by-play voice for the Tigers during their 43-41 upset win over defending NCAA champion UCLA in the 1996 NCAA tournament and during their 27-2 run through the 1997-98 season.

McCarthy is a 1990 graduate of The College of New Jersey.
