Tom Hayes

Tom Hayes (born February 1952) is an Irish farmer and Fine Gael party politician.
Elected in 1997 to Seanad Éireann on the Agricultural Panel, Hayes was Fine Gael's Seanad spokesperson on Agriculture. He was elected on 30th June 2001 to the 28th Dáil as Teachta Dála for Tipperary South, when he held the seat for Fine Gael in a by-election following the death of Theresa Ahearn TD. He was re-elected in the 2002 general election.
Hayes is currently Fine Gael's Deputy Spokesperson on the Environment with special responsibility for Heritage & Rural Affairs.
