Tom Hammonds

Tom Edward Hammonds (born March 27, 1967 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida) is an American former professional basketball player who was selected by the Washington Bullets in the 1st round (9th overall pick) in the 1989 NBA Draft. He played in 12 NBA seasons for the Bullets, Denver Nuggets, Charlotte Hornets, and Minnesota Timberwolves averaging 5.3 ppg in his career. He scored a career high 31 points for the Bullets against the New York Knicks on January 29, 1992. Hammonds played collegiately at Georgia Institute of Technology.

Since retiring from basketball, Hammonds was involved in the drag racing scene, owning his own National Hot Rod Association team, and he currently owns a car dealership in Darlington, South Carolina [1].
