Talk:Tom Thumb (comics)

Quoting the article: "The retro virus made Tom shrink to the height of less than a inch(.007 of a foot), an effect which is apparently permanent. At first Thomas Thompson was going to be in the covert team and started thinking it would James Bond. On the Squadron Supreme team Doctor Emil Burbank made a tiny, self-contained capsule with enough air to last the mission and was inserted into Shape as a backup plan. After the mission in Africa Tom Thumb is now in counseling to help him with the self-contained capsule."
OK, first sentence. Do we really need to explain what an inch is, especially with a conversion that's wrong? Second sentence: "It would James Bond"? What exactly does this mean? The end of the last quoted sentence poses a similar conundrum.
I'm not sure if I can fix these things without knowing the original author's intent. I will, however, delete "(.007 of a foot)." RobertAustin 14:52, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Can the Current Tom Thumb character change size? Or fly?
If you look at the two-page "to be continued" picture at the end of Ultimate Power #1, Tom Thumb appears to be at least as tall as Zarda's calf and foot. He also appears to be flying. We probably should wait until issue #2 before altering the article too much on the basis of this one shot, however. RobertAustin 14:52, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

- Pretty much everyone - Blur, Inertia, Nighthawk(?!) etc - appears to be flying in that picture. I'd been blaming the art... --Mrph 16:46, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
Tom's been shown at a variety of sizes in the various Supreme Power series. At times, he appears to be an inch, at others he looks about six inches. For example, in Ultimate Power and the Hyperion mini, he's around doll-size. My guess is that he can alter his size but is unable to return to normal human dimensions. Anyone object to me changing the article to reflect that?--Rajah1 22:27, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
