Tolsford Hill
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tolsford Hill is a hill on the North Downs with a height of 181 metres. On the summit of the hill is the Tolsford Hill BT Tower.
It is one of the highest hills on the East Kent Downs (east of the Great Stour) after Wye Downs, Farthing Common and Cheriton Hill. The summit of the hill is a flat plateau surrounded by steep western, southern and eastern slopes and a gentle northern slope. At the foot of the hill are the sources of a number of local streams and rivers such as the Nailbourne (or Little Stour), the East Stour, the Seabrook and the Brockhill Stream.
Slightly isolated from Tolsford Hill is Summerhouse Hill.
Tolsford Hill is a prominent landmark above Folkestone and belongs to the Ministry of Defence. It is situated on the North Downs Way.
