Toireasa Ferris is currently the mayor of Kerry County Council. Like her father, Martin Ferris, she is a member of Sinn Féin.

She appeared on The Late Late Show and in an interview with Pat Kenny said she did not have the authority to condemn the killing of Garda Jerry McCabe in Adare in 1996. This interview also caused controversy given the revealing outfit worn by Ferris.
