Togekiss (トゲキッス Togekissu?) are one of the 493 fictional species of Pokémon creatures from the multi-billion-dollar Pokémon media franchise – a collection of video games, anime, manga, books, trading cards and other media, created by Satoshi Tajiri. Togekiss is famous for being the evolved form of Togetic, a Pokémon from a previous generation and for appearing in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. The purpose of Togekiss in the games, anime and manga, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon, untamed creatures encountered while the player passes through various environments, and tamed Pokémon owned by Pokémon trainers. Its name is derived from the Japanese "toge", spike, and the English "kiss."

[edit] Appearance

Togekiss resembles a moderately sized bird covered with white down. It has a crest similar to its earlier forms Togepi and Togetic, with blue and red feathers. Along its chest are spots resembling small red and blue triangles. Its overall shape resembles that of stealth aircraft, with a sleek, aerodynamic form for flight, like a stealth bomber. Overall, Togekiss's appearance resembles a fully grown dove.

[edit] In the video games

Togekiss evolves from Togetic by using the Light Stone, introduced in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. Togekiss can learn Sky Attack, Extremespeed, and two new moves. One of these new moves is a special Flying-type attack called Air Slash, with a base power of 75 and a 30% chance of causing the opponent to flinch; however, with the ability Serene Grace, the chances of causing the opponent to flinch would double up to 60%. The other move is a Fighting-type attack called Pulse Bomb, which cannot miss.
