Togdheer (Somali: Togdheer; Arabic: توغدير‎ Tūghdayr) is an administrative region of the de-facto recognised republic of Somaliland. Its capital is Burao. It is bordered by Ethiopia and the Somaliland regions of Woqooyi Galbeed, Sanaag and Sool. Togdheer is one of the 6 regions of the internationally de-facto recognised republic of Somaliland, self-proclaimed Republic of Somaliland (the territory of the former British Somaliland) is not de-jure recognised internationally but is de-facto recognised and de-facto independent. The region's name is derived from the Togdheer River.
