Tofu Records is a U.S. record label of Sony Music Entertainment Japan which was launched in 2003 with the goal of bringing the best of Japanese music to the U.S. Tofu Records first signed T.M.Revolution to the label. Tofu Records initially wanted to reach out to the fanbase through the anime community. T.M.Revolution's initial U.S. concert debut at Otakon 2003 was a huge success, drawing an audience of over 5000.

Tofu Records' second signing deal was with L'Arc~en~Ciel, a successful J-Rock band. Tofu Records immediately started promoting L'Arc~en~Ciel in the U.S. and helped launch their presence in the U.S. through a concert performance at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Maryland during Otakon 2004. L'Arc~en~Ciel made 1st Mariner Arena history by being the first music group from Japan to headline at 1st Mariner Arena. The concert drew an estimated 12,000. As of 2006, Tofu Records has also published the Splurge album by pop duo Puffy AmiYumi.
