[edit] History

Todd Maki was Born in St. Louis, MO. on December 29, 1980. He has older living siblings. His father is the son of a preacher, and his mother is the daughter of an anethesiologist. He spent most of his life living in Boca Raton, FL.

Todd Maki gave his first major speech in front of 300 or more of the top business and education leaders throughout South Florida at the Signature Grand in Davie, Florida. where he shared the stage with Ret. General Colin Powell while a senior in High School for a Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame induction ceremony. After Todd Maki graduated high school at Boca Raton High School in Boca Raton, FL in 1999, he went on to attend college at Florida Atlantic University, Palm Beach Community College, and Florida State University. He attained the Bachelor's degree in Political Science and minor in Philosophy by August of 2006.

While at Palm Beach Community College, Todd Maki was recognized by the Provost of the South Campus and recieved one of the few Provost Awards ever given for Distinguished Service at PBCC. He was the Founding Chairman of the Christian Leadership Association, Student Trustee on the District Board of Trustees, Vice President of the Student Government Association, and a member of the Center for Student Leadership. Todd also served in FJCCSGA (Florida Junior Community College Student Government Association) as a District 1 Parliamentarian. It was here in Community College that Todd Maki first took for granted the positive messages that continue to change his life.

Florida State University was Todd Maki's latest step on his educational journey. While focusing his education on Public Policy and Government, Todd had the opportunity to work first hand with State Senators: Dave Aronberg and Ron Klein. Todd also pursued activities like Student Government where he was appointed Secretary of Municpal Affairs and Campus Crusade for Christ. His involvment at the state level and in Student Government afforded him numerous experiences to learn from the best in the field of leadership.

Todd Maki's commitment to leadership education led to the creation of his new company Todd Maki and Associates. He travels and teaches about many ideas that has helped shape his life and way of thinking. He also is an independent associate with PrePaid Legal Services.

[edit] Government

Todd Maki's work in Government has been rewarding. His efforts as a student relaying important messages from the student body to the State Legislature afforded him the early beginnings of representation: (900,000 Community College Students in FL (FJCCSGA), 40,000 Students at Palm Beach Community College, and 40,000 Students at Florida State University). Although his message was small, the potential impact was huge. The relationships he built along the way, the people he helped, and the sense of satisfaction he gained proved that he can go above and beyond his dreams.

After meeting Honorable Governor Jeb Bush, and Governor Elect Charlie Crist, he feels that dream of serving as Governor of Florida is not far off. After serving under State Senators Ron Klein and Dave Aronberg, he has an idea of how to reach his dreams. And after representing students as a leader in the educational system, he knows he can trace his roots of service based leadership back to his community where he continues to serve and strive for success; beginning with students.
