Toby Petersen (born October 27, 1978 in Minneapolis, Minnesota) is a professional ice hockey right winger who currently plays for the Edmonton Oilers. He attended Colorado College, and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins 244th overall in the 9th round of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
On Game 3 of the Western Conference Final in the 2005-06 playoffs, Toby Petersen scored his first ever NHL playoff goal against the Anaheim Ducks. It happened as Ducks goalie Ilya Bryzgalov was playing the puck behind the net, when Petersen stole the puck from Byrzgalov and wrapped it into a practically empty net.
Petersen has stated that he is a type-one diabetic.
