The Total Nonstop Action (TNA) X Cup is a variety of professional wrestling tournaments competed for by international X Division wrestlers as part of the TNA wrestling promotion.

[edit] Super X Cup

The Super X Cup was the first major X Division tournament for TNA, which would earn the cup winner the status of the best X-Division superstar in TNA Wrestling as well as the #1 contendership and a title shot for the TNA X Division Championship at a later date.

[edit] America's X Cup

The America's X Cup was a tournament-like event held in early 2004. Two teams of four (each representing a different country) would go head to head in a series of matches competing for points.

The tournament consists of three rounds:

  • Round 1 - Four singles matches (One point each)
  • Round 2 - Two tag team matches (Two points each)
  • Round 3 - An eight-man elimination match (Two points per elimination*)
    • Winning the elimination match does not guarantee a tournament victory.

The team with the most points after all three rounds wins the tournament and the America's X Cup trophy.

The World X Cup was a TNA tournament-like event first held in 2004 which pitted four teams of four wrestlers each against each other. Like the America's X Cup, each team represented a different country and standings were based on points.

Since there were now four teams, the scoring format changed.

For 2004:

  • Round 1: 16-man Gauntlet Battle Royal (Three points for winning, one point for second place)
  • Round 2: Two tag team matches (Two points)
  • Round 3: Four-way ladder match (Four points)
    • The team with the lowest score is eliminated.
  • Round 4: Three-way Ultimate X match (Five points)
  • Tiebreaker: Singles match

For 2006:

  • Round 1: Two tag team matches (Two points)
  • Round 2: Two singles matches (Three points)
  • Round 3: 16-man Gauntlet Battle Royal (Five points for winning, Two points for second place)
  • Tiebreaker: Singles match
