Titus Malachi Bramble (born July 21, 1981 in Ipswich, Suffolk) is an English football player.

He currently plays for Newcastle United F.C. in the FA Premier League whom he joined in July 2002 for £5m. His previous club was Ipswich Town, who brought him up through their academy. He has also had a loan spell at Colchester United.

Despite representing England frequently at Under-21 level, he has yet to make the transition to the full team due to frequent unexplainable lapses in concentration whilst playing. Although he blatantly has the strength, pace and passing ability to be effective, his infamous pairing with Jean-Alain Boumsong at the heart of Newcastle's defence was dubbed as 'The Chuckle Brothers live show' due to frequent errors and mishaps.

Titus is also known as the 'Own goal expert' in the eyes of Liverpool F.C. fans, as he scored an own goal at Anfield in the 3-1 victory for the opposing team. Liverpool fans chant 'Oh Titus, Titus, Titus, Come on, fight us', which refers to the fact that when he plays against them, he feels upset by the fact that he scored for the wrong team.

Titus scored a spectacular volleyed goal against Chelsea on 8th May 2006 in a 1-0 victory that secured qualification for the Intertoto Cup[1].

On August 10, 2006, Titus scored another vital goal for United in the UEFA Cup second qualifying round with a header against Latvian side FK Ventspils. In the return leg as St James's Park, Bramble gave a solid performance in a 0-0 draw allowing the Geordies to progress to the Uefa Cup.

[edit] Driving

In 2002 Bramble was banned for seven weeks and fined £2,000 for doing 102mph in a BMW [2]

On August 13, 2006 it was reported that Bramble was involved in a car crash in the village of Newton Flotman in Norfolk, while heading for a nighclub in Norwich. His BMW M3 convertible car, carrying five or six people, crashed into a garden wall. No one was hurt in the incident, and Bramble cleared a standard breath test.
