Image talk:TismNatdistcolourweb.jpg

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

When looking for a photograph for the article I personally spent many, many hours searching through google to find images of TISM and apart from live photographs (usually obscured by microphone stands) no such image to the best of my memory showed all of the members of TISM in such a concise manner, ie. not standing next to each other to make for a very wide image. Apon reading the image criteria at Wikipedia, I figured that the photographer, who seemed to be a professional to some degree (I didn't look at his site for long) owned the image. When I inquired as to whether the image would be usable here, he gave no such hesitation to allow it. Without actually asking him to release it as a free image (something which I would consider unfair) I uploaded it with the current tags and the discussion I had with the photographer allowing the image to be used here.

If all of those reasons are not satisfactory enough to fit with the current guidelines and another image, free if possible, can be found which demonstrates the members of TISM in such a manner to be acceptable and understandable to a first time visitor to the article, with no prior knowledge, as Wikipedia so frequently wishes to view articles, then by all means I implore another editor to upload such an image.

Though in my mind the image, its suitability and the authour's willingness to have it on Wikipedia, make it a fairly reasonable keep. -Gohst 03:05, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
