[edit] Welcome!

Hi, Tiria, Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hello, and welcome to the ranks of Wikipedians! My name is BorgQueen, one of very many Wikipedians around here, and let me be the first to welcome you here. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ , plus if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions)! There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page. And don't worry—you may well have a bunch of questions after that avalanche of info I just threw at you. Yeah, Wikipedia has a bit of a culture and etiquette of its own, but you get used to it!

[edit] Additional tips

Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!

  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Using the four tildes to sign your sig is policy whenever you make comments on a talk page or vote on something.
  • You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
  • You should also consider (if you have not already) creating a user page for yourself, to tell us a bit about you. Don't worry if it's small at first -- most people tend to grow their user pages over a period of time, much like Wikipedia articles. Don't expect everything to happen all at once!
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the articles for deletion page. If you think a page should be moved to a different title, please list it at requested moves.
  • If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.

[edit] Happy Wiki-ing.

[edit] Image:Kopa.PNG listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded, Image:Kopa.PNG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

[edit] Your userpage

Hi Tiria, I've noticed your userpage has become a target of anon vandals. Would you like me to semi-protect your userpage? --BorgQueen 17:00, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

Yes, thanks!
--Tiria 01:17, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Macbeth audio file

Hi, Patricia. I just listened to your voice reading the Macbeth article. Quite lovely! I see you love reading... Have you tried Umberto Eco's The Name of the Rose yet? It is one of my favorites. Keep up the good work! --BorgQueen 08:55, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging of Image:Nuka.JPG

This image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia and it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page. This is for the purpose of ensuring the definitude of the copyright notice.

If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then simply note this as such, and provide an applicable copyright tag to the same.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.

If you have any questions, please let me know! — pd_THOR | =/\= | 22:07, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for editing Lion King articles

Hi, thanks for editing and maintaining the pages related to The Lion King. I appreciate your help and hard work. Keep up the good work! --Starionwolf 20:52, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Stop

You are now the 4th person who has vandalized the Uru page.

STOP IT.

Pursuant to WIKI rules, you can be banned for deleting other people's writing. This is known as VANDALISM and is a severe violation. JusticeForICANNsVictims 07:17, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Just fixed the Ahadi page again. STOP DELETING OTHER PEOPLE's WORK.

JusticeForICANNsVictims 07:20, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

I believe you're going a bit too far. I am not "vandalizing" those pages, merely removing untrue information that has been put in them. I'm sorry if this sounds somewhat rude but I'm just trying to get my point across.

[edit] Cats

Hi, sorry for jumping in during your creation of the Skimbleshanks page. I hadn't realized you were still working on it. MichaelCaricofe 05:26, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Oh, that's okay.
