[edit] Introduction

The Tippmann Forum is the official forum on the website of Tippmann Sports. It is one of the largest paintball-related forums on the internet, with over 35,000 members.

The forum has been through several iterations since its inception. During the early years, it was informally known as "mother" by its members, and is still referred to by this name by very senior members.

While the forum is hosted by Tippmann Sports, there is much discussion of non-Tippmann paintball issues and non-paintball issues altogether.

The most popular sub-forum is "Thoughts & Opinions", the non-paintball forum, and many of the forum members do not own Tippmann markers or even play paintball.

Nevertheless, and despite the relatively young age of many of the forum members, the Tippmann Forum can be an excellent resource for paintball-related information.

[edit] History

The forum was originally started in 1999, and most of the original members were closely associated with either Tippmann or "Old Men and Heavyweights" - OMHW, the Tippmann factory team at that time. The original members and other long-time members often refer to this original iteration of the forum as "mother", and later "Old Blue", a reference to the blue-dominant formatting of the forum.

The forum underwent a substantial reorganization on June 10, 2002, and all members were required to re-register as a result. There are therefore no members with registration dates earlier than June 10, 2002, despite having been members for years prior to that date.
