Tinribs

Tinribs is a strip in the British adult comic, Viz. The name is a take on the character Brassneck, who has appeared in various British children's comics.

While Tinribs is described as a "robot" by its owner, Tommy Taylor (and everyone in the strip), it merely consists of a cardboard box sitting on a skateboard, inside which a rod (with two boxing gloves on either end) rests on a pair of empty tin cans. Its face is just a smiley face drawn on a piece of cardboard. It also has a voicebox from a Barbie doll, with its main phrase being "Hi, I'm Barbie. I love you very much". Additional phrases are sometimes heard, but usually this is the only one Tinribs uses, except on one notable occasion when Tinribs malfunctioned and started shouting 'frottage!'

Tommy often calls on Tinribs to solve problems for other people. More often than not however, this is accomplised by using Tinribs' components to mutilate his teacher, Mr. Snodworthy, whose body parts are then used to solve the problem. For example, in one episode in which the pupils go on a school trip to France, they find themselves stranded at the top of the Eifel Tower. The problem is solved by Tinribs, who utilises Mr Snodworthy's scrotum as a bungee cord, which becomes horribly distended after the pupils, headmaster and their androdgenous tour guide use them to dismount the tower. On another occasion Tinribs aids in research into gentically modified foods when his can body is used to pour GM liquid onto Mr Snodworthy resulting in "hairy dog cocks" sprouting from his eyes. Snodworthy always remains in good health despite his trauma, even after having vital organs removed. The strip's violence is somewhat cartoonish, and seldom realistic.
