After the construction of the Tin Hau station, the area around the station has become known as Tin Hau by the locals (especially by those born after the construction of the site), though, natively, the area is part of Causeway Bay, as testified by the name of the market located in the area (Causeway Bay Market).

Tin Hau Station is mentioned in the popular Twins song Next Station Tin Hau, which is the song of the film Diva, Ah Hey!.
