Infobox disclaimer and references

Tin(IV) sulfide (SnS2) is a chemical compound.

Conditions/substances to avoid are: strong acids and strong bases. It is insoluble in water, but is soluble in alkali metal sulfide solutions, due to the formation of a complex ion: SnS2 + S2- → SnS32-It is also soluble in acidic solutions, with the evolution of hydrogen sulfide gas.
