Tim and the Hidden People

Tim and the Hidden People is a series of short books and several short novels for children, written in the 1970s by Sheila McCullagh and illustrated by Pat Cook and Ray Mutimer. The books chronicle the adventures of a boy named Tim and a supernatural race of beings known as the Hidden People.

The beings are invisible to ordinary people unless you possess a magical token (eg. a coin, key or similar). The Hidden People also encompass animals, such as cats, and other supernatural beings. They even include animals that can talk or possess other extraordinary abilities. Hidden people can be benign or malign in nature.

Some ordinary people are able to discern the Hidden People and sense magic, these people are known as the Strange Ones. A product of a union between an ordinary person and Hidden one.
