Tim Thorne

Tim Thorne (born 1944) is a contemporary Australian poet.
Thorne lives in Launceston, Tasmania. He is the author of ten volumes of poetry, the most recent being Best Bitter in 2006. Tim Thorne was for many years the Director of the Tasmanian Poetry Festival. He is the managing editor of Cornford Press, and the Launceston correspondent for the national literary journal Overland. In October 2006, he was the winner of the Launceston Poetry Cup, one of the highlights of the twenty-first Tasmanian Poetry Festival (Launceston, 13th-15th October, 2006).
