Tim Smolens

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tim Smolens is a young musician, composer and producer. He is most notably known for being the bassist and co-founder of the Santa Cruz based band Estradasphere although he also actively participates in bands Don Salsa, ISS and Secret Chiefs 3.

Smolens also works with Jeff Attridge in a small company known as Game Audio Magic that composes music for interactive media. Game Audio Magic is most popular for providing the soundtrack to the computer game Gish and smaller flash games created by Edmund McMillen. The songs featured in these games are usually shorter edits of Estradasphere songs.

Besides both electric and upright bass, Smolens also plays keyboards, guitar, violin, cello and mandolin as well as occasional singing. He's also done all of the electronically sequenced "video game" songs for Estradasphere.
