[edit] Career

In the eighties to early nineties, Pope primarily worked on directing music videos for such artists as The Cure, David Bowie, Queen and Neil Young.

However in 1992, Pope made his move into the world of feature films with a short film called Phone starring amongst others Bill Pullman, Linda Blair and Amanda Plummer. The film was successful and went on to win many accolades. The success of this film led directly to Pope's hire to direct the follow up to The Crow. The Crow: City of Angels achieved the number one spot at the American box-office and is included in the top 1,500 money-spinners of all cinematic time.

In 2004, he received a 'lifetime award' from the CADS for his music videos and after a 12-year long break from directing videos he began again. In 2005 he has now made videos for such artists as Fatboy Slim, The Darkness, The Kaiser Chiefs, KT Tunstall and Jim Noir. In response to questions regarding his 12-year hiatus, he replied, "I simply wasn't ready to go away and die".
