Tim Michels

Tim Michels is a Republican from Wisconsin. He earned the Republican nomination on September 15, 2004 for the U.S. Senate to run against the incumbent Senator, Russ Feingold. However, he lost in the general election to Feingold, 56%-44%.

Tim Michels is married to Barbara, they have three children; six year-old son Hank, three year-old daughter Sophie, and one year-old son Will. They are members of St. Jerome’s Parish, Oconomowoc(Catholic). Michels currently serves on the committee to build a new church and school.

Michels is Co-owner and Vice President of Michels Corporation, Brownsville, Wisconsin. He is a member of IBAW, NFIB, and numerous trade organizations representing the construction industry. Michels serves on the Executive Committee for the Transportation Development Association, Wisconsin (TDA). He has worked on the trading floors at the Chicago Board of Trade

Michels has twelve years of active duty service as an Airborne Ranger Infantry Officer in the U.S. Army where he earned the rank of Major. Upon promotion Michels was one of the youngest Captains in the U.S. Army. He is a former Commander of the Army’s elite Honor Guard with duties at the White House, State Department, and Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Michels currently serves in the IRR (reserves), member American Legion and VFW.
