Tim Lamb

Timothy Michael Lamb (born Hartford, Cheshire, March 24, 1953) was an English County Cricketer and Cricket Administrator, the first Chief Executive of the England and Wales Cricket Board (1996-2004).

Tim Lamb is a son of the 2nd Lord Rochester and was educated at Shrewsbury School and at Queen's College Oxford University (for whom he got a blue in 1973 and 1974) and played professional cricket for Middlesex (1974-77) and Northamptonshire (1978-83). A right-arm fast-medium bowler Lamb played 160 First Class matches between 1973 and 1983 and scored 1274 runs (average 12.49) and took 361 wickets (average 28.97).

He entered sports administration as Secretary and General Manager of Middlesex County Cricket Club in 1984, and he became Cricket Secretary of the Test and County Cricket Board in 1988 and Chief Executive in 1996.
