Tim Hartman

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tim Hartman (1965 - ) is a practitioner of the Filipino martial arts of Modern Arnis and Balintawak, and the president of the World Modern Arnis Alliance (WMAA). In 2000 he tested for his 6th degree black belt at the Michigan summer camp, making him the highest tested black belt in the U.S. under Professor Remy Presas, founder of Modern Arnis. He was granted the title Datu, or chieftain, by Professor Presas shortly thereafter.

Mr. Hartman is very active on the seminar circuit, regularly giving seminars and camps across North America and Europe. In June 2005, Datu Hartman was promoted to 9th degree by the WMAA Advisory Board. In his words, this promotion reflects Mr. Hartman's leadership position within the WMAA, and is not meant to replace the rank that he earned from Professor Presas within the Modern Arnis community at large.

He resides and teaches in West Seneca, NY.
