Tim Bueler
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tim Bueler is the founder and president of High School Conservative Clubs of America, an organization that seeks to start conservative clubs in high schools across the nation.
[edit] Controversy
In 2004, while attending Rancho Cotate High School, Bueler faced resistance from school officials and fellow students in response to an article he wrote in his club newsletter regarding illegal immigration. Many students who did not agree with his article began to threaten him and call him a "racist." His teachers suggested that he stay home from school for a few days to avoid confrontation, but Bueler refused. Many teachers called him a "Nazi," "bigot," and "neoconservative wingnut," among other things. [1]
[edit] Sudden Fame
Because of the media coverage of the incident at his high school, Bueler was invited to appear on The O'Reilly Factor by host Bill O'Reilly. Also, Rush Limbaugh has talked about Bueler and his club on his radio talk show. Author and talk radio host Michael Savage called him "a rebel with a cause." Bueler has been a speaker at many conservative and Republican conferences and has met many conservative leaders in Congress and state legislatures. Currently, Bueler is working with James Gilchrist, who is the director of the Minuteman Project.
