Timothy William Buckley (b. April 3, 1981) is the webcomic artist responsible for the Ctrl+Alt+Del webcomic.
Buckley's webcomic was started in September 2002, and launched on October 23, 2002. At that time he knew almost nothing about webcomics, and it was merely a project for his portfolio. Though the art was unshaded and basic in the beginning, the webcomic has evolved and its popularity has grown.
By 2003, Buckley was attending comic conventions as a guest. Buckley started attending conventions such as ConnectiCon, Otakon, Nekocon, Katsucon, Ubercon and E³.
In 2004 Buckley released the first collection of his comic strips in book form. A follow-up volume 2 came a year later.
In 2005 a group of webcomic artists (including Buckley) rallied their readers and raised $34,000 to save Connecticon. Connecticon is a favorite convention of webcomics that was in financial trouble.
In 2006 Buckley hosted the first Digital Overload[1], a pay-for-entry LAN for Ctrl+Alt+Del fans, allowing interaction and gaming between Buckley and his fans. He also has released animated versions of Ctrl+Alt+del for $2.99 on a monthly fee, These run between 4-5 minutes each coming out on a monthly basis.
Buckley regularly supports charities on his website. Past charities include supporting U.S. troops abroad, Tristan's Wheels (a fundraiser to buy a handicapped van for a child), Child's Play, Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, St. Jude's Children's hospitals, and most recently the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
With Ctrl+Alt+Del still going after four years, he makes a living as a cartoonist, and lives in New Haven, Connecticut. Buckley also sells merchandise online, including Xbox skins (including two of Ctrl+Alt+Del), books, T-shirts and other clothing.
