Anyone have a Julian to Gregorian calendar converter?--The_stuart 04:15, 11 Mar 2005 (UTC)

http://www.fourmilab.ch/documents/calendar/ The first date December 14, 1825 (NS) December 25, 1825 (OS) don't seem to be correct...any ideas?:

[edit] Ordering by date

Shouldn't this timeline be ordered somehow?

[edit] 1917 ????

Somehow 1917 has been left out.

[edit] Kievan Rus'

And why Kievan Rus' isn't there too. Kiev certainly isn't Russia but there is no reason to exclude the Early East Slavic state from Russian history. Or is there? --Irpen 03:44, 30 October 2005 (UTC)

"Kievan Rus′ was the early, mostly East Slavic state dominated by the city of Kiev from about 880 to the middle of the 12th century." This is a timeline of "The Russian Revolution". Admittedly, this title is ambiguous, but at most should document the run-up to the 1905 revolution and aftermath of the collapse of the USSR. Jameshfisher 19:38, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merge from the timeline in Russian Revolution of 1917

It has been suggested that this timeline be merged into the article Russian Revolution of 1917. I am merging the timeline from Russian Revolution of 1917 into this article. See the talk page at Russian Revolution of 1917. Jameshfisher 19:40, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] More rigorous definition and criteria for inclusion.

Right. Firstly, we need to clarify, as I mentioned above somewhere, what we mean by "The Russian Revolution". Without a rigorous enough definition, this timeline seems worthless compared to the Timeline of Russian history. What we seem to mean by a "Timeline of The Russian Revolution", from the content of the timeline, is a timeline of events that affected, in some way, for better or worse, the course or nature of the revolutions of 1905, February 1917, and October 1917, and ultimately the fall of the Russian Empire. This seems broad enough to keep the span and content of the timeline as it stands. In order to keep this definition, but without a ridiculous page title, I propose moving this page to Timeline of the Fall of the Russian Empire.

Secondly, we need to make sure that each and every event in the timeline fits within the definition above. Every event which is not relevant subtracts usefulness from the article. In order to enforce this, I propose adding another column: "Significance to the Fall of the Russian Empire". This should be filled with any information on how that particular event paved the way for, or against, the Fall of the Russian Empire. Every event for which we cannot find significance should be either removed or moved to the Timeline of Russian history.
