[edit] Plea for Help

Do you have a time line for me? I am doing this for earth science. I am doing meteorology. (Unknown name/time)

[edit] Some Important Details No Longer Missing

Added information concerning U.S. Observation Network and Norwegian Cyclone Model (which was surprisingly absent in the time line). Thegreatdr 17:54, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Well...add it... --Hard Raspy Sci 23:08, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hurricane Katrina

Can anybody justify the entries for 2005 and 2004 as being notable events in the history of the science of meteorology? Hurricanes Rita and Katrina (2005) seem to be just a record of sizable natural disasters, and the increase in tropical storm formations noted in 2004 would be more suited to a record of climate change than an account of the development of a science.

I've just noticed that this trend continues up the list. I haven't deleted this time in case there is a good reason for all these hurricanes to be included. phillipmackin 30th May 2006; 2,43 GMT

I agree with Phillip. We'd like the input from the original author of this timeline over the next couple weeks before making changes; that seems only fair. Thegreatdr 22:10, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
As of August 2006, the article seems to be shaping up with a lot of superfluous content removed. A tad too much "alphabet soupish" entries in the later sections for my taste though. Scoo 05:51, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

The justification is: entities like the US Congress don't do anything pre-emptive unless something like Hurricane Katrina, Rita, or Camille happens. I hope you catch the ugly truth and irony in that statement. Hard Raspy Sci 17:25, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Also, this timeline is a subtopic of a bigger timeline: Timeline of environmental events --Hard Raspy Sci 23:13, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Worldview ??

This article was inapproriately tagged as not worldview without discussion as to why the tag is there. So I am removing it. Any problems, see my talk page. --Hard Raspy Sci 23:18, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] References Cleanup

This page needs references cleanup...looks ugly as h###! I'm too lazy right now to look it up in Wikimedia........ Hard Raspy Sci 23:23, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
