Tilioideae
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tilioideae is a botanical name at the rank of subfamily. It was used by various systems of plant classification, among which the Thorne system (1992).
Within the framework of the APG II system, which recognises an extended family Malvaceae (formed by uniting the core Malvales of the Cronquist system, that is Bombacaceae, Malvaceae sensu stricto, Sterculiaceae and Tiliaceae), there is a clade which includes the genus Tilia. By botanists dealing with this group this clade, of two or three genera only, is called
- subfamily Tilioideae
- genus Craigia
- genus Tilia
and according to the AP-Website probably also the genus Mortoniodendron.
