Tihar Ashram, also called Tihar Prisons, is the largest complex of prisons of South Asia, and is located in the western part of Delhi, India. It is approximately 8km from Chanakya Puri.

The prison is supposed to be a Correctional Institution. Its main objective is to convert its inmates into normal members of the society by providing them with useful skills, education and rules. It is meant to improve the inmates' self-esteem and strengthen their desire to improve.

Kiran Bedi while she was the Inspector General of Prisons, and when the Tihar Jail was under her jurisdiction, instituted a number of prison reforms. She changed the name of Tihar Jail to Tihar Ashram.

Charles Sobraj, an international criminal, had managed to escape from this prison but was caught again and is currently imprisoned there only.
