[edit] Welcome

Hello, Tigermichal, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- getcrunkjuicecontribs 13:30, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Goodies (album) and And I

It is generally considered bad behaviour to remove {{merge}} tags from articles while the discussion is still ongoing. If you have concerns over the merge proposal, please express them at Talk:Goodies (album). Thanks. Extraordinary Machine 16:05, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] 50 Cent

I reverted your deletion of a large section of the 50 Cent article. Please don't delete large sections of articles without first discussing it on the talk page. — J3ff 07:46, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding your edit to Model (person)

In case you did not notice, the issue regarding images on that page has been discussed prior to your edits. I have reverted your edit and should you disagree, please bring up your reasons for doing so on the talk page for the model article. Thank you. -- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 05:54, 13 January 2006 (UTC)ß

[edit] Use the preview button and edit summaries

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

I would like to thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. However, it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Thanks again. -- getcrunkjuicecontribs 00:26, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:005b.jpg

Thanks for uploading the image. I tagged it as {{albumcover}} as in the case of other album or single covers. In order to abide the Wikipedia:Fair use policy, we can only use these images in the articles about the single/album or the artist. Which means, we can not use these images on other pages (including User pages). -- bluemask 11:31, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

Why did you delete my another Tyra Banks picture in Tyra's article? Nyikita 22:13, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Breakthroughera001.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Breakthroughera001.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags.

The over-the-air brand of television stations and radio stations should be treated as a title of a book or newspaper. Thus it means that it needs to be italicized. Leonard23

[edit] Image Tagging Image:9579274.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:9579274.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. Jkelly 04:10, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:R3799701524.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:R3799701524.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Wgmelogo.PNG. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. [edit] Deja Vu

You keep changing the article on Beyonce's song "Deja Vu", your changes show very strong point of view, which is not a part of wikipedia, your changes will continue to be reverted.

Thanks! :) Thankyoubaby 23:15, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

I Can see where you are coming from, but Wikipedia states the good and the bad, and unfortunately for that song there have been ups and downs and both need to be documented. Thankyoubaby 23:20, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
I don't have a problem with Beyonce, in fact I like the song, but it's not Wikipedia's way to glam it all up in her favour. Thankyoubaby 23:23, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unsolicited advice (but could be helpful)

Hi, I'm User:Pedant, and I work with the The AMA, but I'm not acting as advocate for either of you at present. I'm writing this to both User:Thankyoubaby and User:Tigermichal about your recent flurry of edit disputes. I can assure you, without any judgement, that both of you have actually violated some of wikipedia's policies, and either of you or both of you could be subject to being blocked if it continues.

However, from looking at your edits, I see that both of you are active contributors and you have both added valuable material to the wikipedia, and I hate to see your productivity wasted. You seem to have gotten into a situation where you are editing competitively rather than cooperatively with each other. That's a shame, since you both seem very knowledgeable and since you seem to share an interest in the same types of music.

[edit] My proposal

I'd like to work with both of you to not only resolve the conflict, and to advise you on how to avoid this type of conflict in the future. There are a few simple ideas I have that have benefited me in the past, and I've come to see them as valuable core ideas for wikipedia editors. My goal would be to get you two working as a team, by working with each other collaboratively I think you could absolutely rock!

I don't really want to put the effort forth to help you though, unless you are both into it, your disputes are really so minor and easy to fix that really, since I'm kinda lazy I'd prefer to just go around cleaning up after the two of you. That wouldn't be as productive of a solution though, and not the 'best thing for wikipedia'. If you'd like my help becoming a dedicated editing team, I am absolutely willing to spend the time to help you. What do you think? Answer on my talk page User:Pedant 20:11, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] An AMA request

Hi Tigermichal. I am Wikiwoohoo and I work with the AMA. Thankyoubaby has made a request to the AMA to have an Advocat look at the problem that has developed between the two of you over Deja Vu (song). I would like to help the two of you to come to a satisfactory agreement, therefore, could you give me your explanation for how the dispute started? Once you have done so, I can then be in a good position to work with the two of you, having heard both sides, to help the two of you solve this problem and edit together on the article as well as others. Thank you for your time and help. Wikiwoohoo 20:47, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Please use edit-summary

I have noted that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! --Abu Badali 20:47, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Abc7tvw.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Wjlalogo.PNG)

Thanks for uploading Image:Wjlalogo.PNG. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fritz Saalfeld (Talk) 15:21, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
