Tiger and the Duke (2005) |
Lover, the Lord Has Left Us... (2006) |
Tiger and the Duke is the first album by the progressive rock band The Sound of Animals Fighting.
It is a concept album revolving around the title character, Duke, and the Captain who runs the ship they are sailing. The cargo of the ship are crazy animals who howl and fight below the deck. Eventually the Captain's sons start a mutiny in which the Captain jumps off the ship.
Duke and other men are put down in the hold with the animals during a fierce storm. As the ship is sinking the Duke says, "The voices of men stopped, and I heard only the storm above. Then the ship capsized. The sound of animals fighting ceased. When at last the heavens were steady again, I found myself alone in the darkness.
..."I am sinking, o' Captain I am sinking," I said to noone but the the great sea."
On October 12th, 2006 at 10:40 P.M. a bulletin was posted on the band's myspace page stating that "Tiger and the Duke" is officially out of print.
