Tidewater Drive

Tidewater Drive (part of State Route 168) is located in the independent city of Norfolk, Virginia. It extends from an intersection with U.S. Route 60 near west Ocean View to downtown Norfolk. The four lane roadway has a number of grade separated intersections and was built in the mid-1950s. The construction of the new Tidewater Drive was planned to handle additional traffic anticipated with the completion of the new Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel, which opened in 1957.
