Tiaro Shire Council is a Local Government Area in Queensland, Australia. Towns in Tiaro Shire include Bauple, Curra, Glenwood, Gunalda, Gundiah, Theebine, Tinnanbar and the administrative centre, Tiaro.
The name "Tiaro" is of Aboriginal origin, meaning withered or dead tree. Forty three percent (43%) of the shire is covered by State forest. The main industries in the shire are sugar, beef and dairy cattle and timber felling and milling[1]
