[edit] {{Standard gauge}}
Please see the discussion Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Trains#Gauge Templates?. Slambo (Speak) 15:00, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
- The article that you originally edited that brought up this discussion, PRR S1, is about an American locomotive. Metric measurements have yet to catch on in widespread use here, so the article's measurements should all be listed in Imperial units (the preferred method noted in Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dates and numbers) is to put the source units first, which in this case is Imperial units). There are a couple hundred articles that use the {{standard gauge}} template, so changes to it should not be taken lightly. We've begun discussions on creating a complementary template, perhaps named {{standard gauge metric}}, to list the same information but in metric units first for locales where metric units are standard. If there is a better solution, please join the discussion noted above so we can all come to a consensus and avoid reverting each other. Thanks. Slambo (Speak) 11:23, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Edit summary
It would be very helpful if you would explain your edits to Kaizen - or, for that matter, to anything - by summarizing your edits per standard Wiki practice. Thanks! Ehusman 15:22, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
